Brad Hurlburt
Brad Hurlburt has been teaching Social Studies (Grades 9-12) at KCS since 1998.
He is also the Faculty Advisor for the High School Student Council, Quiz Bowl and the Class of 2009. Brad is originally from Plattsburgh where he taught at Plattsburgh High School. He received his BA degree from SUNY Geneseo and his MST degree from SUNY Plattsburgh.
Brad lives in Keene Valley with his wife Patricia (Elementary School Counselor at KCS) and their Hungarian Vizsla dog, Maggie. Brad and Patricia are expecting their first child. In his spare time, Brad enjoys playing guitar in a blues/rock band, fly fishing and fly tying, hiking with Patty and Maggie and working on his vintage home.
Brad is a 46’er, completed the Hawaiian Ironman in 1997 and won a gold medal at the 2003 Empire State Games for the Men’s Masters Nordic Pursuit Cross-Country Ski Race.
“There are so many highlights of working at KCS. Among them are: the Greece and Italy trip in 2006, playing drums in the pit band for Grease, hosting and playing guitar at the Oxfam dinner, having author Russell Banks speak about his novel Cloudspitter, working with Joy on the hoplite scene in Lysistrata.”
